The upcoming release of conceptual design platform Pacelab Suite is scheduled for the end of September. The new version will introduce significant functional enhancements for streamlining the setup of product models.
Pacelab Suite 5.0 will enable users to graphically define physical and abstract connections between components (e.g. electrical wiring, chronological order or logical links) without having to manually adjust the underlying mathematical system. The number and type of the ports, that is, the points where connectors may be attached, can be flexibly defined in the component design.
Component designers will also be able to add textual and visual information such as the design intent or suggested usage of a component, which helps engineers select the appropriate building blocks when setting up their product model. In addition, the frontend of the library holding the building blocks has been completely restructured to provide a faster and more intuitive access to the available components.
